Online Summer Acting Intensive
for Children and Teens

Intro to Acting: Ages 9-15

​

Actors will learn the fundamentals of acting for the stage (character breakdowns, scene analyses, areas of focus, subtext, and memorization techniques.) All classes feature a full Linklater warm-up for the body and voice! We will apply that knowledge to scenes and monologues from classic theatre text and musical theatre scenes. This class is perfect for any actor who is just starting out or the actor who is new and wanting to stretch and challenge their skills.

Advanced Acting Monologue and Scene Study:* 

​

 

Actors will learn how to approach a character and scene at a deeper level using techniques taught by Meisner, Uta Hagen, and Stanislavski. We will expand our imaginations to help further our abilities as an actor.  We will examine texts and monologues from great classic playwrights such as Williams, Ibsen, Chekhov as well as contemporary playwrights such as Paula Vogel, Tony Kushner, and John Patrick Shanley. We will work steadily to create connections to the characters and bring ourselves to a more honest and truthful place in our acting.

 *Prerequisite: Intro to Acting / Scene study for young or teen actors/ by audition, please PM for a slot.
