BASICS
BASICS
In this Acting Technique class, we will work on how to respond with truth and hone our dynamics all while working towards accessing our emotions and senses. We will use different styles of acting to help us gain the power and knowledge of our memory and our imagination. We will learn to find and trust our impulses in order to make our acting authentic and real. We will work on memorization techniques and to stay present in our bodies while performing. Acting takes time and dedication. We will work on breaking down our walls so we have a blank canvas on which to design our characters. We will also work on acting from impulse and active listening on stage. We will work on the difference between stage and screen acting.
ADVANCED ACTING
For our more advanced actors we will work with heightened text, avant-garde playwrights such as Pinter, Ionseco as well as move onto Chekhov, Williams and other amazing writers whose characters we love to imbody. We will work on finding our beats, our intentions, conflicts in our material and work together on helping you through those breakthroughs to make you into a better actor than when you walked in!

Here we will work on text analysis, pre-rehearsal prep, active listening and keeping a scene engaging and fluid. (2 to 4 students)

We will work on going deeper into the past history of a character and work on our characters' motivations and choices. This is a great private class for anyone working on a character with a lot of levels and who wants to present a multi-leveled performance of that character.
